The Wapenamanda District Development Authority in Enga is embarking on a training program for Small to Medium Enterprises to help expand the local economy.
Registration for the SME training exercise is expected to start next week. This initiative is priority for local MP Miki Kieok to position locals to be financially active.
This follows the National Government funding support of K5 million to boost SME as announced by the Prime Minister last month when he visited the district.
An office space is being facilitated by Wapenamanda Rural LLG President Hon.Misech Semai at the Wapenamanda RLLG Council Chambers.
SME training firm PNG NO.1 SME will facilitate the training program
Participants will be professionally guided into doing SME business with instant opening of personal and business bank accounts through the complete registration and certification processes to be automated on location.
Skills in business management and financial literacy will also be transmitted to enable citizens to access business loan from designated financial institution such as the National Development Bank and the commercial banks.
Other basic business management and financial literacy skills will be transmitted.
The Wapenamanda District Development Authority will assist with an initial seed capital funding per individual to start up their SME.
