JOHNSON PUNDARI IS NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF THE NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT BANK (NDB)

Mr. Johnson Pundari is new Chief Executive Officer of the National Development Bank commencing June, its Chairman, Darrell Seeto has announced today.

Mr. Pundari will take over from acting CEO Gary Coplin in 1st June and serve the development bank’s CEO during a three year term.

“On behalf of the National Development Bank Ltd, the Board of Directors, Management and Staff, I would like to congratulate Mr Johnson Pundari on his appointment as CEO for a 3-year term starting 1st June 2022,” Chairman said Seeto.

“Mr Pundari joins NDB having vast commercial business experience in PNG,”  Mr. Seeto commended.

Mr Pundari’s deep relationships in the business community will help NDB progress at privatisation speed.

We welcome Mr Pundari to the National Development Bank of PNG and look forward to Mr Pundari executing the board’s strategy to make NDB bigger, better and stronger for all the people of PNG. We also thank Mr Gary Coplin for his time and effort in the capacity as Acting CEO for the past 12 months. Mr Coplin has done a tremendous job given the circumstances,” the Chairam said.

He was formally the Executive Director at the Institute of Banking and Business Management, Chairman of Kumul Telikom Holdings Limited, Non-Executive Director of Datec Ltd and Non-Executive Director of National Fisheries Authority.

It is understood the PNG National Executive Council made this appointment a week prior to the  NDB Chairman’s announcement.
